ABOUT THE PILOT

Real effects. Clear credits.

Native effect hosting

These effects run as native code on the audio server. Their sound and controls stream to your browser. Effects without a custom graphical interface use a standard native host panel; it controls the actual effect parameters. This is not a screenshot of a custom interface or a browser imitation of the audio processing.

The effect selector and its source link identify each effect's author and license. The curated effects are Steve Harris’s SWH plugins, released under GPL-2.0-or-later. Upstream source · License · Pinned 0.4.17 source archive. Patchwork's native audio service is a separate pilot from the website and uses limited sessions while compatibility and performance are tested.

Source downloads: Patchwork native host source · SWH plugin source · Debian build patches. SWH plugins by Steve Harris and contributors are released under GPL-2.0-or-later. Full credits.

Audition recordings

Each recording is published under Creative Commons CC0 1.0. We use short excerpts from the publicly available high-quality MP3 previews, resampled to 48 kHz stereo with level adjustment and short fades.

These are real recordings, not synthesized replacements. The preview sources are compressed; the WAV files used by the host are not claimed to be original lossless recordings. Source URLs, processing steps, and checksums are retained in the project’s native-lab/loops/SOURCES.md and reproducible preparation script.
